Internship Opportunity with Congressman Russ Carnahan

Congressman Russ Carnahan (MO-3) is now accepting applications for summer 2011 interns in his Washington, D.C. and St. Louis offices. There may also be an internship opening in D.C. on the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Responsibilities include assisting staff with answering phones, sorting mail, responding to constituent letters, and other administrative duties. Interns also aid in legislative research, drafting press clips, maintaining internal legislative and constituent records, event planning, and other special projects. In addition to these responsibilities, D.C. interns lead tours of the U.S. Capitol for 3rd Congressional District constituents. Ideal candidates are motivated, hard working self-starters with a strong sense of humor. Missouri ties are preferred, but not required. Interested applicants may submit a resume, cover letter, and the attached intern application form to carnahan.jobs@mail.house.gov no later than March 18. Please indicate if you have a particular interest in policy or press, and specify your office preference in your application. For further questions, please call 202-225-2671.
