Bain is looking for the best talent at Washington University to interview for Bain’s 2010 Associate Consultant class. We are seeking students who have exceptional scholastic records, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and active, diverse interests. We do not require a business background and business course work is definitely not a prerequisite to succeed at Bain. Instead, we look to hire smart, well-rounded people from a variety of backgrounds, and historically, a majority of new AC’s have come to Bain with non-business educations. We provide nationally renowned global training to all new hires in order to provide them with the necessary tools to succeed at Bain. Additionally, we offer the possibility of MBA sponsorship after a few years with the firm.
Associate Consultants are integral members of case teams that work with international corporations to improve bottom line results and to achieve significant increases in the market values of their companies. Case teams work on intense, strategic problems that range from acquisition studies, to manufacturing cost reduction efforts, to market strategy studies for new products. Through a broad range of experiences, the Associate Consultant position offers individuals the opportunity to develop superior analytic skills and sound business sense along with agreat career trajectory. Associate Consultants use data driven analysis and direct client contact to promote change and add value.
As with other strategic management consulting firms, the interviews will primarily be in the case format. Case interviews are typically based on a business situation/problem and interviewees are evaluated on the way in which they approach finding a solution to the problem.
